Procedure for the day of your IELTS test
Please remember to bring your passport with you as you will not be able to sit the exam without it and you will not receive refund. Registration will be held between 7.45am and 8.45am. The school premises will be locked at 8.45am and the test will begin 9.00am.

Please note there will be no break between the Listening, Reading and Writing papers. You will be under test conditions for approximately 3 hours.
- Candidates will be allocated a time for their speaking test on the day.
- Coats, jackets, bags, mobile phones and pencil cases are not permitted in the test room and must be left in the secure room provided.
Test Results
Normally your results will be mailed to the address on your application form 13 days after taking the test. Certificates may be collected from Reception at Kaplan International College Cairns on that date and your passport must be shown. Certificates not collected will be posted to the address supplied on the application form.
We are not permitted to give results over the phone or by fax or email. Replacement Test Report Forms are not provided in case of loss.
A score is reported for each module of the test. The individual module scores are then calculated to produce an Overall Band Score. Overall Band Scores and Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking Band scores are reported in whole and half Bands.
Transfer of Test Date
You may transfer your IELTS test date if there are places available, by completing the Test Date Transfer form up to five weeks prior to your scheduled test date. No transfer is allowed less than five weeks prior to the scheduled test. Please email us at Reception.Cairns@kaplan.com to request this form.
An administration fee of $25 applies to transfer.
Cancelling an IELTS Test
You may cancel your IELTS test and receive a refund by completing the Request for Refund form five weeks or more before your scheduled test date. No refund will be given for cancellation less than five weeks prior to the test. Please email us at Reception.Cairns@kaplan.com to request this form, or to notify cancellation of test.
An administration fee of 25% of the full test fee applies for cancellation of a test date more than five weeks before your schedules test date.
Requests for re-marking of results
If for any reason you wish to query your test results, you may lodge an IELTS Enquiry on Results form within four weeks of issue of results.
A standard fee for this is charged which is fully refunded should your score change.
The fee is $160* plus GST if applicable (*subject to change).
