| The Part-Time
General English Course is a Long Term (5 to 12 weeks) Course
offered at IHQLD Cairns, Brisbane and Qingdao Campuses.

IHQLD offers General English courses at the following levels:
- Elementary;
- Pre-Intermediate;
- Intermediate A;
- Intermediate B;
- Upper Intermediate;
- Advanced.
The courses consist of 15 hours/week face-to-face study including
three hours of supervised self-access study using material
recommended by the teacher.

One of the major aspects of these courses
is teaching students to study effectively for themselves
- a skill they will be able to take away and use in their
own country.
The second main area of emphasis is on communication.
|
Classes reflect this with much work in pairs and groups, and students
are encouraged to participate and contribute.
The following areas are covered:
- The English Grammar System;
- Specific expressions for use in situations in Australia (eg
in a bank or restaurant);
- Pronunciation;
- Work on skills - listening, speaking, reading, writing (special
emphasis on listening and speaking;
- Vocabulary.
