| The English
& Conservation Volunteer is a Short Term Programme
offered at IHQLD Cairns and Brisbane Campuses. |
|
Experience the unique heritage and wildlife of Australia by volunteering
for a Conservation Programme. Students can improve their English
skills with IH and then do a Conservation Project anywhere in Australia.
|

|
Projects include work in National Parks, wildlife
tagging and trapping, tree planting, building of boardwalks
and fences and historic building restoration plus many more.
|
Students receive full training, accomodation (camping) and meals
for the duration of the Conservation Project and will meet other
international and Australian volunteers on the projects.
Features of an English and Conservation Volunteer Program:
- Volunteers come from Australia and all around the world to participate
in programs to preserve, restore and protect the unique Australian
environment, wildlife and heritage.
- International volunteers gain benefit from improving their English
skills before doing a CVA project as they can then understand
the training and safety instructions; interact with the other
members of their group; enjoy the social parts of the program
and gain maximum benefit from the experience.
- An IH English course prepares students with the communicative
language skills to meet these needs.
- Participants come from a wide range of age groups - minimum
age 18, maximum age 70.
- Participants get the opportunity to see some remarkable and
remote locations in Australia - Projects are run across Australia
and some are in very unique and remote areas of Australia including
areas where everyday Australians and tourists cannot normally
go.
- CVA programs are for 2, 4 or 6 weeks and participants can extend
for other projects if desired.
- IH Queensland English courses start every Monday and CVA Programs
start every Friday.
