FINDING WORK
The CELTA, awarded by the University of Cambridge, is the most widely recognized pre-service TEFL/TESOL course in the world. As the CELTA contains six hours of observed and assessed teaching practice, has Cambridge approved course tutors and is externally moderated, language teaching organizations worldwide recognise its value. CELTA graduates from IH Queensland now work all over the world.
How we help
IH Queensland helps its graduates find work by discussing teaching opportunities before, during and after the course. The post course service includes:
- Career advice and counselling
- Email updates of current teaching vacancies worldwide
- A Course Report from IH Queensland, in addition to their certificate from Cambridge ESOL. This can be used as a reference for employers
- Specific references for particular jobs are available on request

Work in Australia
The demand for English continues to grow and Australia is an increasingly popular destination for overseas students. Many come to study English on intensive courses (ELICOS).

CELTA graduates from IH Queensland have gone on to work at NEAS accredited centres across the country, both small independent colleges and international language teaching organisations (e.g. GEOS). Others have found work at TAFEs and University language centres.
