EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, ANTI-DISCRIMINATION/RACIAL VILIFICATION POLICY
This policy is in place to ensure that we meet the needs of individuals, and the community as a whole, through the integration of fair and open policies that offer equal opportunities for all, and that repudiate any form of discrimination whatsoever.
- Enrolment procedures and entry requirements for students will be the same for all, administered and judged in a consistent manner at all times. Thus an equal opportunity for all is available. (Responsibility – Office Manager)
- We will ensure equal allocation of resources to all students. (Responsibility – College Principal)
- In counseling students on future careers or study pathways we will treat each student upon his/her own merits, and make available all possible opportunities for further work or study to all. (Responsibility – Student Counselor)
- We will implement specific procedures for particular market segments as required to ensure that such a segment will have equal opportunities to all others. (Responsibility – College Principal)
- We will maintain an open and accessible grievance procedure, which is available to all students who have cause for complaint on the grounds of discrimination or any other grounds.
- Because the vast majority of our students are international we assess each target market for specific problems – both educationally and culturally. Once problems are identified then strategies are put in place to address such issues and to ensure that each student has equal opportunities.
- This school states in its Mission Statement that part of its reason for existence is to break down cultural and national barrier that exist between the peoples of the world, through shared study and experience. It is therefore the policy of this school to offer all students every opportunity to integrate with other students, through social programs, through shared study and through an open and tolerant attitude from staff and therefore students alike. (Responsibility – Managing Director)
In order to ensure that these policies are carried out:
- Equality and anti-discrimination issues are carefully considered during curricula development, and appropriate measures instigated.
- There is access to professional development for trainers and teachers who deliver courses to under-represented groups.
- Staff are trained in the policies of the institution.
- Non-discriminatory selection procedures are in place, which encourage fair access for members of under represented groups.
- Our Mission Statement is publicly displayed.
