Students usually rely on public transport. Brisbane has a very good public transport system with buses, trains and ferries. The bus stops are right outside the school or in the next block. Central Railway station is five minutes walk from the school and the City Cat Ferry stop is just across the road from the school at the Riverside Centre.

If I stay in homestay are my meals included?

Your host family will provide breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday if you are at home. Lunch is not included during the week so you will need to buy your lunch in the city. There are many cafes and take-away restaurants close to the school.

In Cairns there is an in-house cafe offering sandwiches, drinks and snack foods.

Most students need to allow between $800 - $1200 per month depending on lifestyle and accommodation.

The school arranges different activities each week - these include movie nights, tours to islands, learning to roller blade, horse riding, visits to Surfers Paradise beach - just to name some. When you start at International House Brisbane, you will see all the different activities available on our notice board.
